Managing rental properties effectively can take a lot of time, effort and money, and even then the experience for the resident can be lacking. JoyHub’s Basic tools are for use by property managers, owners of one or more units, and operators of multifamily properties that are not currently using enterprise property management systems.
In today’s changing landscape, it is even more important to communicate effectively with residents and provide them with safe and clear communication. JoyHub empowers operators to manage their units remotely, and with ease of communications, support a better resident experience, which results in greater long-term retention.

Owners and operators of rental properties can add their properties to their custom dashboard for easy management. And unlike some systems, JoyHub accounts for properties to have one or more units, and one or more residents. Each property can be added to the custom portal with a three step process, and each can also have a separate secure bank account associated for receipt of rental payments and ease of accounting.
The Basic version of the technology is for those operators who do not currently use enterprise systems and need an easy and cost effective way to manage their units and residents in one place.
Future Enterprise versions of the JoyHub technology will address larger operators who want to integrate with their property management software systems and gain access to additional features and functionalities available in the market. JoyHub presents Enterprise customers with a comprehensive strategy to bring more value to residents with automated workflows and secure data management.
When managing rental units it is critical to properly vet the residents’ qualifications, particularly in a remote management environment. With JoyHub, owners receive access to quality credit reporting that is paid for by the prospective resident. By inputting the unit into the JoyHub system, operators can receive, review and approve applications specific to that unit. Basic customers can select the reports they want to receive and get access to the tenants they deserve.
Most importantly, JoyHub empowers operators to set the price of the Application fee (subject to any applicable Tenant Screening Laws). Owners of smaller properties can now set the application fee and keep the difference between the cost of credit reports ordered to cover their time and effort to review the applications. Larger management companies charge fees for reviewing applications, smaller owner operators should be able to as well. JoyHub makes it possible.
JoyHub’s system also coordinates lease signing, and will soon offer automated e-signing of leases all through the JoyHub system for a truly paperless process.
Once a property and unit has been filled, the owner can manage the unit from within the JoyHub system. Operators can invite existing tenants or new tenants to sign up for their own portal, and from there the tenant can make monthly rent payments, set up auto payments, split payments between roommates, and send out maintenance requests. Receipt of payments are tracked and late payments generate notifications to all involved, as well as charge pre-defined late fees.
When a resident has a maintenance request, they can easily login to their resident portal and make a request through the system, designate a priority level and share times they would like for the repairs to occur. The system then becomes a source of record for maintenance tracking for future reference, and can assist in dispute resolution upon a resident’s eventual departure.
We believe that being a resident isn’t the only important phase of the rental lifecycle. Most technologies pick up and drop off at the prospect phase, or start when alease is signed a go through receipt of a notice to vacate. We believe a prospective resident, an applicant, a resident and a former resident are all one person at different stages of their connection with a rental unit, and therefore shouldn’t be forced to move from technology to technology. We believe every resident should be able to access everything an owner wants to offer to them through one app, not many. We believe the rental process should be smooth for all parties, and that technology can help by promoting better communication, automation of redundant tasks, and accountability through transparency.
