Dear JavaScript Engineers,

We decided to make a project on providing feedback on developer’s interview skills for JavaScript-related jobs.

The process is straight-forward. We arrange a call where we conduct an interview with a number of questions. The questions are typical for a job interview and besides, we’ve done it many times. The call lasts for about an hour. After that, we provide detailed feedback on the strengths and weaknesses in your knowledge that we managed to find.

The first step would be to grab some actual information regarding the required skills for JavaScript-related jobs.

We made a small survey — 3 pages with 18 questions, like

  • Which «pure JavaScript» questions have you been asked?
  • What is the funniest question you’ve been asked?

And this is the part one — intro and some open format questions. If this post goes well, I’ll publish the second part in a few days.

Would you mind to fill in the questionary we made about your last / best interview?

1. When did you have the latest job interview?

a. This month b. This year c. More than a year ago d. Other

2. Which position have you been interviewed for last time?

a. Junior b. Middle c. Senior d. Other

3. Did you like the interview?

a. Yes b. No

4. Did you pass the interview?

a. Yes b. No

5. What is the most remarkable question you’ve been asked?

6. Which question you did not know how to answer?

7. What is the funniest question you’ve been asked?

Most questions are about technical skills and your latest interview, but feel free to answer in any appropriate way.

The full form is available here — https://forms.gle/zpt2WwCxHJs1Ecdr5

We would really appreciate your help, and we promise to write an article about it “What a JavaScript Developer Should Know” later on based on survey results.

In the end, we want to help developers to be successful with passing interviews.

Please let us know your thoughts on the topic! Is it useful? Is there something missing in the questionary?

Thanks for your time!
