Decentralized category with NEAR and OP Games

The second year of the Decentralized category in the js13kGames competition, after its debut in 2021, brings Challenges from NEAR Protocol and OP Games.

The WebXR category offers Valve Index as the main prize thanks to Construct Arcade, and Web Monetization one cash prizes to top best entries thanks to Coil. The Decentralized category though, similar to last year, have specific (optional) Challenges for you to try and win cool stuff in the process. Those include NEAR Protocol, OP Games, and Arcadia (which is OP Games’ arcade platform).

In the NEAR Protocol Challenge you can win a total of 1000 NEAR coins currently worth more than $5000 for top10 entries, while both the OP Games Challenge and Arcadia Challenge offer the exact same prizes: 1500 USDC each for top5 entries total, plus three Arcadians NFTs for both as well. This means the total prize pool for the Decentralized category Challenges is $8000 (and 6 Arcadians NFTs).

NEAR Protocol Challenge revolves around using NEAR.js for various Web 3 functionalities, the OP Games Challenge want you to explore the Decentralize The Metaverse article’s guidelines (interoperability, open source, and being unstoppable), while Arcadia Challenge would like to see the arcade machines theme itself being implemented, but you can get bonus points for using the actual Arcadians NFTs or even implementing the Arcadia SDK into your entries. All the Challenges and the category itself have dedicated judges who will play and rate your entries.

If you want to see what’s possible, you should definitely check out top entries from the Decentralized category in 2021 as there’s plenty to learn from there. Good luck and have fun!
