Civil unrest is the most precise description of what the situation was like in downtown Beirut during summer 2015. The corrupt and estranged government answered the #YouStink protests with unspeakable assault; they forbade activists from remaining in the streets but kept the stinking garbage freely planted across the once green and beautiful Lebanon.
