Exhibition downstairs

On my way into the studio today I saw an exhibition downstairs by Saskia Robinson (?) it reminded me of some of the sculptures I posted earlier by Cecilia Viscuña.

Ceramics

Additionally, during activities week I attended a ceramics workshop .I was able to explore less contemplative — more visceral ways of making using clay. The forms that resulted were playful and simple. For my design domain one of my primary ideas is to explore how to create interesting interactive forms that are simple, drawing from Dunne & Raby’s ideas in the exhibit “Robots” about how to make technological objects that don’t appear technological.

I’m also interested in objects that can communicate and interacts with humans such as those discussed in this MOMA Exhibition:

Cognition & Human Limits

Just got off the phone with my older brother. He works in neuroscience so I wanted to pick his brain about work he thinks would be interesting. He mentioned it would be worth looking at HCI literature involving cognitive science and the concept of proprioception as well as other systems of processing that humans use to see if I could incorporate some of this into my design domain project.

I’m interested in exploring the constraints of humans.

I’m interested in how the constraints of human processing inform the ways that we design interfaces.
