Yes, Democrats do it too; but Republicans threaten double-talk’s extinction

If hypocrisy has the fortune of surviving the Trump administration’s stay at the White House, it should file a criminal complaint against all allies and representatives of the embattled regime. The crime: wrecking hypocrisy’s reputation beyond recognition and soiling its currency in the English language. TrumpCo. could also be charged for snuffing out lightning strikes and other acts of God that once answered the call of hypocrisy’s self-indulgence.

Hypocrisy used to trade on a certain level of respectability, dare I say, a two-faced oblige? That necessary grace for keeping up appearances, which would never trample upon the finer senses of polite society. This is no longer true.

Take the case of U.S. Attorney General Bill Barr (in a criminal trial pursued by hypocrisy, this would be exhibit ad infinitum). As the Chief Law Enforcement Officer of the Land, the post demands a degree of legal decorum or independence from the presidency that he has shown no interest in upholding.

In a conference call with federal prosecutors earlier this month, the nation’s top cop suggested charging violent protesters with sedition should any government agents or officials endure harm.
