We are a research firm founded and staffed by PhDs. We combine our academic and work experience on the buy and sell side and in tech and big data with our founder’s years of experience in crypto markets as a CEO, partner at a San Francisco blockchain accelerator, investor, advisor, and friend to leaders in the crypto space.

About the Role

We are looking for an experienced and credible sales leader with a record of B2B subscription sales to lead outbound prospecting for the team. The Business Development role is responsible for growing organizational revenue by identifying, qualifying and closing new business deals — subscriptions, bespoke and sponsored research — with quants, PMs and traders.

The right candidate will have many years of experience selling quantitatively-sophisticated financial research and a large network of potential clients that have a personal or professional interest in cryptocurrency markets.

The successful candidate will be action-oriented and results-driven and bring inspiration, credibility and commercial awareness to the business. As the first dedicated sales hire, they will have the ability to think long-term yet drive execution tactically and manage the balance between the two. And as an early, strategically-vital hire, their upside compensation will be akin to one of the first ten hires in a tech start up.

Responsibilities

  • Develop tiered and weighted prospect lists for industry clients in target geographies
  • Work on your own and with executive team to identify and qualify potential deals
  • Close new business; develop and negotiate contracts
  • Build and manage customer experience including procurement, onboarding, and user feedback
  • Expand enterprise usage, negotiate larger contracts and upsell
  • Build and refine suite of materials used to present to potential investors/clients
  • Attend industry events, conferences to build contacts and networks and promote the value proposition to prospective new clients
  • Meet weekly and monthly KPIs

Qualifications

  • The ability to interact and communicate effectively with all levels of a financial industry organization, including quantitatively sophisticated market experts
  • Strong financial industry (e.g., trading firms, asset management) expertise with the ability to effectively communicate with customers in traditional financial service firms
  • Crypto knowledge and network preferred
  • Experience with CRM and sales funnel management

Ideally located in New York or London. Compensation includes a base/retainer plus bonus
