Today we are excited to announce a major update to the Rover beacon content platform. Over the past year, we have heard great feedback from marketers and developers who are using Rover to build beacon-based content and experiences into their apps.

From our large retail and loyalty clients, to discovery and event-based apps, you’ve told us that you wanted even more design flexibility and the opportunity to deliver content at sub-locations or different areas within your venues.

We’ve listened and are excited to bring you a complete update to the Rover open source SDK and content management tool.

With Rover 2.0 you can now:

  • Set up design templates with significant flexibility to fit the look and feel of your app and brand guidelines
  • Build a number of ‘call to actions’ into your content, including deep-linking into your app
  • Set up touchpoints or ‘sub locations’ within your venues
  • Track visitor and content analytics to see how your beacon content is performing

Content Creation

Using the new content builder tools in Rover, you can create beautifully designed content for your customers. This includes the ability to add images, copy, ‘call-to-action’ buttons and barcodes into your designs.

Design Templates

We’ve also introduced the concept of design templates which allow you to set up themes for your content. Everything from background images to typography, colors and layout are yours to control. You can set up multiple themes to suit different campaigns or design needs.

Analytics and Insights

In addition to be being able to track customer visit analytics we have added insights into content performance. New ‘card’ analytics now give you direct line-of-sight into how your beacon-triggered content is performing, displaying how many content cards have been delivered, viewed and ‘clicked’. This feature allows you to further optimize and improve the experiences and content you deliver to your users.

These updates reflect our continued commitment to providing the foundation to build beautifully designed and engaging beacon-triggered experiences. We’ve been hard at work building and have a number of exciting announcements coming in the next few months that will continue to make it easier for you to build amazing beacon experiences into your app.

As always, we love hearing your feedback and make sure to check out the new CMS for yourself!
