Aya, the Sanrio model
My wife & baby girl are featured on Sanrio’s website! I can now say that I’m married to a model.
It started as a favor to Christine, Cindy’s friend of many years & Sanrio’s Director of eCommerce in South San Francisco. She asked Cindy if her team can borrow her & Aya for a product shot. Like a good friend, she said yes.
We drove to the Sanrio offices & met Christine at work. She gave us a quick tour & led us to the photo studio, which was right next to her cool office. If she told me that this room was a Sanrio store, I probably would have believed her:
She explained that they recently tore down a few cubicles next to her office so they would have a permanent space to set up a studio for product shots. It was a very cozy room, full of different Sanrio products ready to be photographed.
We blocked off an hour for the shoot, but since Aya was so cooperative, we finished in only 15 minutes. That’s my girl! Her mommy was with her for most shots & her daddy was cheering her on from behind the photographer, so she was quite comfortable getting down to business:
In fact, Aya was having a blast. She was surrounded by bright lights & new people, but she was all smiles:
The same day, the photos went live on Sanrio.com! In case the site goes down or the product pictures go out of rotation, I took some screenshots. The photo in the beginning of this post is Aya with her mommy. Here’s a solo shot of Aya in a very soft hooded towel:
Here’s the page on the Sanrio site: Hello Kitty Hooded Towel Set: Ducky
Needless to say, our girl will probably be a Sanrio fan for life!
Edit: Sanrio.com used a few more photos for their Mother’s Day promotion! Here’s the with Cindy & Aya:
On their Mother’s Day promotion page, they’re featured in the header:
This one is a post on Facebook through their Hello Kitty account:
Of course, I had to share it with the world:
