Admittedly I am a reality TV junkie but if I had to, I could probably give up most of my shows. The ONE show that I could not give up though is The Biggest Loser (with Survivor coming in a close second.)

I love this show because it is so amazing to see the process that these people go through to lose an incredible amount of weight. You see their struggles both physically and emotionally and just cannot help feeling for them. On many occasions Juice has caught me with tears in my eyes while watching an episode. It’s not just the shear fact of them losing weight that is so inspiring to me, it is the fact that this is a goal that all of them thought unattainable prior to joining the show and now it is quickly becoming a reality. It is truly a lesson about how you can accomplish anything if you just start chipping away at it. I think the Cinderella aspect of it is what keeps it so fresh and interesting and it what has made the show so successful. I mean how many shows can go this with two hour episodes every week without losing steam? American Idol is trying but I personally have lost interest in it. Every week I think that if the contestants are able to do it, I too can do whatever I set my mind out to do.

This year in particular it’s great that many of the cast members are using their experience to help others. I’m sure that others have done it in the past, but this is the first time they really profiled it on the show. *Spoiler alert: Though my favorites Sione, Filipe and Kristin have all been eliminated, I’ll be sure to watch the finale to see how everyone has changed. I hope that one of them will win the at home prize!
