Bobby Bonilla has played professional baseball since 2001. He hasn’t played for the New York Mets since 1999. Yet every year on July 1st, the Mets cut Bonilla a check for $1.193 million. Among baseball fans, July 1st is celebrated as “Bobby Bonilla Day.’
