Which Is More Important: Bots or Proxies
Botting sneakers was a completely different game now than it was a year ago. A year ago, bots mattered most. Mainly because anti-bot protections were not as intricate as they are now. DataDome wasn’t a thing yet on foot sites so if you had a really solid bot like Cyber or Kodai, you could really do some damage.
Fast forward to now and anti-bot protection is a pain in everyone’s neck. Not only does it make having a good bot less effective but it also brings your proxies into the equation. Not only will new anti-bot protection throw your bot into a queue with thousands of other bots, it’ll also throttle and ban your proxies.
Just recently, Foot Locker launched a fake restock in order to ban a ton of ISP proxies from their site. If you know anything about proxies, you’ll know that once your proxies have been clipped there’s a chance they might never be unbanned, thus wasting that $100 proxy investment you just made. After all, the running joke in the sneaker community is not to buy and resell sneakers, but to just sell proxies because of how valuable they have become and how much they are needed these days.
Nonetheless, members of Juiced IO get free access to top-tier bots like Cyber every week. That’s right, it’s free for members. Why rent a bot every week or buy one on the resell market when you could just join Juiced IO, try out a different free bot each week, and receive a ton of information about reselling and other profitable endeavors.
Whether you’re using a free bot from Juiced IO or paying resell for a bot/renting one, the question that is being asked by a lot of sneaker botters is, which is really more important at this stage, proxies or bots?
The answer to this question? Read to the end to find out.
Why bots are important
In today’s reselling market, bots are important for a variety of different reasons but the flawed part is that every week is hit or miss. One week Cyber might perform well and the next week might be a great week for Wrath. It’s impossible to find out which bot will have its lucky week and you have to just run your tasks and hope it’s your week.
Still, the top-tier bots have higher success rates than others but it’s hard to tell which one will perform the best and dodge anti-bot protection for the majority of its users.
Why proxies are important
Bottom line, without proxies your bot will not run. You could create one task from your local IP and hope it doesn’t get clipped but that’s really it.
If you have really crappy proxies, you might as well not even run your bot because they will be so slow and might have possibly already been clipped in the past.
It’s best to have private, fast proxies if you want the most successful sneaker botting experience because then your bot can attack from all angles and make multiple purchases on a site.
Which is the winner?
It’s definitely biased based on the opinion of the writer of this article, but the winner here is proxies. With the right set of proxies, lower-tier bots compete with top-tier bots. With really bad proxies, your bot won’t have a fighting chance at all.
If you’re looking to get started with sneaker botting on a budget, your bot matters but be prepared to spend more on proxies because those will ultimately determine your success.
