Which Nike Dunks Should You Hold and Which Should You Sell?
Nike promised sneaker enthusiasts that 2022 would be the year of the Nike Dunk, and so far it has been. Even with delayed sneakers releases, Nike has managed to pump out a ton of Dunk Highs, SB Dunks, and Dunk Lows.
If you’ve ever analyzed the market for Nike Dunks, you might’ve noticed that it doesn’t perform quite the same as other sneaker releases. Some Dunks skyrocket in value over a few months while others tend to stay stagnant and might even decrease in resale value.
If you’re a reseller, how do you know which Dunks to hold onto for a bigger profit in the long term and which to quickly sell to make money immediately?
One way you could find out is by joining Juiced IO. Members of Juiced IO get detailed information for every Nike Dunk release. Anyway, if you want to know which Nike Dunks to hold and which to flip quickly, here are a couple tips to be aware of.
Dunk Highs For the most part, it appears that most Nike Dunk Highs remain stagnant on the aftermarket. Of course, there are some exclusions to this rule like the recently released Fragment x Nike Dunk Highs. Those will stay stagnant for around a year but will eventually skyrocket in value. The same goes for the Nike Dunk High AMBUSH.
However, if you look at Nike Dunk High “Panda” or “Syracuse” you’ll see that they haven’t moved up in value for a while and most likely will not. Dunk Highs are hit-or-miss when it comes to resale value. You have to quickly flip the more basic models and hold onto the collaborations and more sought-after ones.
Dunk Lows It seems that most Nike Dunk Lows do better than the highs on the aftermarket. An example to compare are the “Syracuse” lows to the highs. The sneaker is the exact same colorway but in two different cuts, but the lows shot up to around $800 on the aftermarket while the highs have remained the same.
It’s possible that Dunk Lows are much more wearable to many people and that’s why they tend to do better on the aftermarket. This only happens with some Dunk Lows. The “Hyper Cobalt” lows don’t look that great on the aftermarket but stock numbers were much higher for those than the “Syracuse” lows. For holding lows, it depends on the number of pairs released and how hyped the sneakers are.
Special Nike Dunks For special Nike Dunks and collaborations, always hold onto them.
Some of these include the 2021 Nike x Supreme Dunk collaboration, the Nike SB “What The Paul” Dunk, and the Grateful Dead Nike Dunk.
These will always go way up in value the longer you hold onto them.
