After a few quieter-than-average weeks in esports, we are back with another huge weekend, this time featuring more than $500,000 in prizing across esports playoffs in 5+ games. Feels damn good. Good thing you can easily find all the events right here on Juked.

TOP TIER: 2 Huge Events Across Smash Bros. Melee, Ultimate

It’s a good weekend to be a Smash fan.

COVID-19 has impacted no other communities more than it has effected FGC and Smash, where local, in-person events have been the norm since forever. But the hype is BACK this weekend with two of the biggest post-corona events yet for both Smash Ultimate and Melee!

First, Hungrybox will be hosting a massive, 8000+ competitor Smash Ultimate tournament on May 8th — 10th, with the help of Leveon Bell and Team Liquid, and the competition looks insane. Yes, you read that correctly, 8000+ Smash players have signed up to compete, and we’re talking gods like MkLeo, Tweek, Samsora, and even Mew2King (despite his recent shift towards content creation) as well.

If you prefer old school, that’s cool too! Smash is RAD will host some of the top Melee talent in the world on May 9th, hosted by the famed BeyondTheSummit. Names like Mang0, Axe, S2J, SFAT, PewPewU, Lucky, and many more are in attendance making this arguable the most stacked online Melee tournament, ever.

Needless to say, Smash is thriving this weekend and we’ll be basking in the glory of The Box & Smash is RAD the whole time.

⭐ EPIC: 3x Esports Finals in Dota 2, Rocket League, and League of Legends

WePlay Pushka League — $250,000 Dota 2 Finals

Group stages for the WePlay! Pushka League S1: Division 1 just barely concluded and this next week, Friday through Tuesday, we’ll watch the top 8 teams battle it out in playoffs. The competition looks favorable for Team Secret, Alliance, and HellRaisers as they set 5–1 records in their groups, but most other teams didn’t fall behind enough to call it settled.

Although these teams have definitely earned their spots in Division 1 competitive play, now’s their time to shine as they have the opportunity to knock off larger chunks of the $250,000 prize pool. Check the playoffs bracket here.

Only one team will earn the opportunity to call themselves Division 1 champions, and we’ll all be keeping a close eye on them over at Juked.

Rocket League Spring Series — $125,000 Europe Finals

It was a great time watching the collegiate rocket league finals two weeks ago, but now it’s time for the European pro league to bring the heat.

With 4 invited teams and 4 qualified teams, we’re looking at Europe’s finest as they progress through the double-elimination bracket starting on the May 9th. This being one of the larger Rocket League tournaments, it also comes with a larger Rocket League prize pool of $125,000 which will surely surface some fierce competition. Catch the action Saturday and Sunday with us over at the Juked event page.

2020 European Masters — $160,000 LoL Finals

Now that the LEC Spring Split is over, it’s time for new talent to show us a lil something in the European Masters 2020 finals.

GamersOrigin will face K1CK Neosurf today and the winner will join AGO ROGUE, LDLC OL, and the Movistar Riders in the tournament’s semifinals. It’s not just the $160,000 prize pool at stake, but some players’ future careers which makes this tournament all the more hype.

While pro teams are scouting players from this tournament, we’ll be scouting matches here at Juked, so stay tuned.

⚙️ THE GRIND: Recurring Leagues

Overwatch League

It’s a tumultuous time for the Overwatch League with players getting bounced off rosters or leaving for other games. But the show must go on. We’re curious to see what roster the Vancouver Titans sport as their entire roster left the team this week…

CDL

The Minnesota Røkkr face the Florida Mutineers this Friday and the teams are just one win away from each other on the leaderboards. Will the Mutineers prove that a home series advantage really can make a difference? Or will the Røkkr push the Mutineers right back down the ladder?

ESL One: Road to Rio Finals

The qualifying stages for ESL One Rio come to a close this weekend with the best teams from NA, EU, and Asia finding their spots in the $2,000,000 finals. Tune in to find out who makes the cut on our comprehensive ESL One Rio event page.
