EXTRA! EXTRA! READ ALL ABOUT IT! Brand new features launched on Juked this week ā€” including a new calendar view and a new ā€œevent viewā€ which centralizes the streams and schedules from a single event, onto one page. Weā€™ll be linking these in this newsletter and beyond.

Now, on to the esports: man, what a crazy international weekend weā€™ve got on our hands. LoL in Spain, StarCraft in Korea, Dota in Germany, CS:GO in Turkey, Smash in America, Tekken in Japan, LatAm Street Fighter in San Juan. This industry is truly amazing, isnā€™t it? Read on for more details.

šŸŒŸTop-Tier: League of Legends ā€” Worlds Quarter Finals & Dota 2 ā€” ESL One Hamburg 2019

Worlds Knockout Bracket

As we approach the end of October, we also approach the end of the League of Legends World Championships. The group stage went pretty much as most expected, with the exception of Group D where Invictus Gaming bopped Liquid out of the knockout stage by a single game, meaning no NA teams made it to the final bracket šŸ˜¢. On the flip side, every Korean team made it through (weā€™re shocked, truly).

Regardless, the final 8 teams represent the best on the planet, with three former Worlds champions in Invictus Gaming (2018), SKT T1 (2016, 2015, and 2013), and technically Fnatic, too (2011). This week we head to the Palacia Vistalegre, a 15,000 seat arena in Madrid, Spain which weā€™re damn sure is going to sell out. Of course, $2,225,000 USD is on the line, but you know the fame and the glory will be worth 10x that cash.

Will Faker return to his throne or will we see upsets from the likes of European powerhouses such as G2 Esports? Tune in this weekend on our LoL Worlds Event Page to find out.

Dota is back (for now)

Itā€™s been a bit of a slow summer for Dota 2 fans post-TI but that all changes this weekend thanks to ESL One Hamburg. For this one we head to Barclaycard Arena, another 15,000+ seat venue (THIS IS A RECURRING TREND), which will host its third ESL One event for a 5-day Dota 2 extravaganza.

This tournament has been full of upsets with lesser-known teams like beastcoast and TNC Predator on to the final 4 . With $300,000 on the line, itā€™s now do-or-die. Follow every single match on our ESL One Hamburg event page.

āœØEPIC: WCS Global Finals & Ultimate Summit 2

WCS Global Finals Kick-Off

Live from the original mecca of esports, Seoul South Korea, StarCraft 2 is back at it again this time with the kickoff of the world finals, in which 16 players go all out over the course of this next week. 8 players qualified from the Korean circuits with 8 ā€œforeignersā€ qualifying from North America and Europe. Each competitor is fighting for a spot in the final 8 man single-elimination Bo5 bracket (Bo7 Grand Final @ BlizzCon) for a chance at the whopping $700,000 prize pool.

Last year, we saw Finnish Zerg superstar, Serral, made history as the first-ever non-Korean to win a StarCraft 2 World Championship at BlizzCon. However, he has tougher competition than ever with the Korean favorite Dark looking nigh-unstoppable, another Zerg player. Tune in and set reminders for your anticipated matches via Juked.

An Ultimate Weekend

The Smash scene has been on cooldown since The Big House 9 a few weeks ago, but itā€™s shifting into high-gear again this week for the Ultimate Summit 2. Hereā€™s the deal. Itā€™s a 3-day meme fest where 16 top-tier players stay at the BTS House in LA and play smash the entire time and features nearly all of the best Smash Bros. Ultimate players on the planet like MKLeo, Samsora, Zackray, Tweek, Nairo, ESAM, and more. If that doesnā€™t sound lit as hell to you, youā€™re probably not a die-hard smash fan ā€” but you should tune in anyway.

FGC, FGC, and more FGC
Another week means, you guessed it, another series of FGC tournaments worth watching.

  • First Attack ā€” a $15,000 Capcom Pro Tour tournament and the CPT LatAm Finals for Street Fighter V are live from the Puerto Rico Convention Center in San Juan this weekend. Oh, and some DBFZ World Tour action too.
  • Tokyo Masters ā€” $5,000 Tekken tournament live from the birthplace of fighting games and arcade culture: Tokyo, Japan.
