Hi! Today I’d like to tell you more about Ray Bradbury’s book “Fahrenheit 451”. In today’s post: spoilers of 2 chapter of the book — one of quotes and description of an important episode. Let’s start!

I’d like to start with an episode of the book.

In the second part of Montag continues to seek ways for reading and tries to communicate favor of books for rest. So one on the evening Montag catches his wife and her friends, watching TV. He is irritated by their words and thoughts, he tries to read for them the poetry and to convey them that reading is necessary and helpful. This is one of the key points of this part. After all, it leads to the fact that at the end of the Chapter, the firefighters decide to burn down Montag’s house. Guess, who made the call? Hint: he hadn’t been able to convince women. I believe that if it were not for this moment in the life of the main character, all further events could develop differently. The whole story would have been different. So, do not miss this episode from attention when you read the book!

In the second chapter you will also find a quote: Do your own bit of saving, and if you drown, at least die knowing you were headed for shore.”

This quote makes a lot of sense.

It is important both in the book and in our world. It can be compared to the expression — move forward to achieve the goal without looking back at others. And the truth is, if you want to create something, to achieve something, you do not need to wait for something to fall from the sky. You have to achieve it yourself, move forward yourself. It’s always better to regret what you did than to regret what you didn’t do.

In the book, it sounds in context: don’t wait for people to start forcing you to read or not to burn books, change yourself, start doing everything yourself. Convince others, then you have nothing to blame yourself for, because you tried, did everything you could.

And what do you think, a person should act on his own, develop and grow, or go with the flow?

Personally, I think this statement should be known and applied by everyone, so I wanted to convey it to you. Try to remember and follow it!

That’s all for now, I will be glad if you like my post and you want to read Ray Bradbury’s wonderful book.
