Hello! It’s time for learning new words! Let’s start!

  • enclave — a part of a country that is surrounded by another country, which is different from the the surrounding area

The most famous enclave in the world is the Vatican in Italy.

  • exclave — a part of a region or country that is not connected to the main part but is surrounded by another region or country

The Kaliningrad region is an exclave of Russia.

  • commune — a unit of local government

Provinces in Italy consist of communes.

  • incalculable — extremely large and therefore unable to be measured

The work of doctors is an incalculable contribution to the fight against coronavirus.

  • to contribute —to help to cause an event or situation

Smoking contributed to his early death.

  • boundary — a real or imagined line that marks the edge or limit of something

The boundaries of Russia and Turkey changed after each peace treaty concluded by these countries.

  • populous — a populous country, area, or place has a lot of people living in it

Megapolises like new York, Beijing, or Tokyo have always been populous cities, but now they are really overcrowded.
