Hello! During self-isolation, the best pastime is education. Today I want to tell you about the following US states: Georgia and Hawaii. Let’s start!

The first one is Georgia.

Georgia is a state located in the southeastern region of the United States. Georgia is the 24th-largest in area and 8th most populous of the 50 United States. The capital and largest city is Atlanta. Georgia’s nicknames: Peach State, Empire State of the South. Motto:“Wisdom, Justice, Moderation”.

Geography and nature.

Georgia is bordered on the North by Tennessee and North Carolina, on the northeast by South Carolina, on the South by Florida, and on the West by Alabama. In the North of the state is the Blue ridge (a spur of the Appalachian mountains). In the East, it has access to the Atlantic ocean.

Most of the state is located in the zone of subtropical oceanic climate. With the exception of mountainous areas, it is typically hot and tere are rainy summers.

Interesting facts and landmarks.

  1. Historically, about half of Georgia’s population was made up of African-Americans who were slaves before the civil war. The state ranks third in the United States in the total number of residents with black skin color.
  2. The state hosts an annual international poultry fair, the largest in the world. Gainesville calls itself the “Chicken Capital of The World”; it should be remembered that the local law prohibits eating chicken with a fork.
  3. Located in Atlanta, Georgia aquarium is the largest aquarium in the world from 2005 to 2012, from 2012 to the present — the largest aquarium in the Western hemisphere. The Georgia aquarium is the only one outside of Asia that houses whale sharks — a 24,000 m3 reservoir is filled with water for them.

4. East of Atlanta is the rock mass of stone mountain — the largest on the mainland output of granite rocks to the surface. The theme park “The Six Flags”, a cable car, and bas-relief paintings of American presidents Lee, Davis, and Jackson are located within this zone.

5. When you come to Georgia, you should definitely see the canyon. It is located on the border with Alabama. This is a system of gullies, whose depth reaches 30 meters, formed from the impact of sewage.

6. The dishes prepared by the chefs of the city of Atlanta, Georgia, are distinguished by their unique taste, which is very popular with many tourists who come to this amazing state. The most popular is traditional American cuisine.

The second state is Hawaii.

Hawaii is a state of the United States of America located in the Pacific Ocean. It is the only U.S. state located outside North America and the only island state. Hawaii is the 8th-smallest geographically and the 11th-least populous, but the 13th-most densely populated of the 50 states. It is the only state with an Asian American plurality. The state capital and largest city is Honolulu on the island of Oʻahu. Nicknames of Hawaii: The Aloha State (official), Paradise of the Pacific, The Islands of Aloha, The 808 State. Motto: Ua Mau ke Ea o ka ʻĀina i ka Pono (“The Life of the Land Is Perpetuated in Righteousness”).

The state encompasses nearly the entire Hawaiian archipelago. There are eight main Hawaiian islands, seven of which are permanently inhabited. On the island of Hawaii there are active volcanoes Mauna Loa and Kilauea, dormant volcano Mauna Kea. Hawaii is the fastest growing area of the earth’s surface (a consequence of volcanic activity). Due to the terrain and soil features, there are almost no large freshwater lakes in the state. Excellent surfing conditions and active volcanoes spewing lava flows attract tourists from all over the world.

Interesting facts and landmarks.

  1. Hawaii is a Paradise that attracts millions of tourists from all over the world every year. A variety of natural landscapes, wonderful plants and fruits, sandy beaches, fire-breathing volcanoes, coral reefs, warm pacific waters, fabulous waterfalls — this is Hawaii. The Hawaiian Islands provide excellent places for surfing and diving, scuba diving and yachting, hundreds of sports grounds are waiting for all fans of active recreation, and there are magnificent beaches for lovers of peace, quiet and nature.

2. In the South-East of the island of Hawaii is the national Park “Hawaiian volcanoes”, which is one of the few places on the planet where it is relatively safe to observe volcanic eruptions.

3. Molokai island seems to be specially designed for lovers of silence. Sandy beaches, including the longest in Hawaii, a minimum of cars. There are ruins of ancient structures on Molokai.

  • In addition to English, the state of Hawaii also uses the Hawaiian language.
  • Located at a distance of more than 3,200 km from any other land area, Hawaii is the most isolated archipelago on Earth. It became the reason for the preservation of unique nature on the Islands, with its flora and fauna.
  • Hawaii is one of four American States that prohibit the use of billboards. This list also includes Alaska, Maine, and Vermont.

Hawaii is juicy fruit fruit of lilikoi and hibiscus flowers in hair; it’s Pacific cuisine, fiery red volcanoes and jumping out of the water whales. The Hawaiian Islands are an expression of natural perfection mixed with cultural diversity brought by people from Polynesia, Asia, America, and even Europe. This state is worth a visit!
