We are in a unique moment in history where, through technology and data, we are able to link traits of individuals (skills, experience, personality, and more) to direct business outcomes of a business (e.g. revenues, meeting generated, customer satisfaction). This creates a completely different model and changes the roles of HR in an organisation from an operational to a strategic role. Data is critical in giving CHRO and other People leaders a seat at the table.

At Jump, our mission is to enable businesses and professionals to succeed based on their unique traits. Our model cuts across the traditional areas of HR (attraction, selection, retention, performance) as we can use data across all stages to help business understand and optimise who to hire to maximise certain business results.

To give you a concrete example, let’s take a fast-growing B2B SAAS startup. In this business, the “quality” of the sales team will make a difference between success and failure. Teams are hired based on gut-feeling and “what worked in the past” with limited objective data. Good and bad hires are made, costing the business time and money, risking the entire business’ success.

Jump will transform all of this radically. By analysing the existing employees and their relative performance, we can extract the unique characteristics that make a junior salesperson schedule more client meetings. In turn, we can use these data to attract only the candidates that are more likely to succeed, helping professionals to find jobs where they will outperform peers.

We’re working on some very exciting R&D in this area, which we’ll be sharing more about in 2020.

Where are we today?

Through data, Jump personalises career advice for professionals and talent attraction for businesses.

Jumpbot, Jump’s personalised career coach, interacts with you to provide interactive job matches that you’ll be good at, even when you’re not actively looking, and get you personalised feedback to improve.

In turn, businesses can attract the right professionals for their roles and teams, tapping into the collective knowledge of what professionals succeed in which career paths

We’ve taken a verticalised approach, focusing and expanding across career paths in order to gather enough data and liquidity to radically transform the user experience for the better.

The formula is quite simple: things you love doing + you’re good at.

We believe that if you give professionals better job recommendations based on what they’d actually be good at, and help them understand if they are a good fit before they even apply, companies can attract better professionals. By using businesses’ decisions (who they interview, who they hire) at scale through our marketplace, we optimise our recommendations, increasing the chance for a candidate to be the right match for the role and improving the trust in our platform.

Performance Formula = What you like + What you are good at.
