Rebirth
A poem about rebirth

When you pace back
and forth between cubicles
of shame, it’s death
by a thousand
paper cuts that simply
doesn’t align with
your values.
With a quick snap of
the wrist, you are reborn
into the twilight of your
senses.
You know what you like
and refuse take no for
an answer.
Like a brand new baby
emerging from the
mother’s warm womb,
you embrace the world
as if you are the only one
that survived.
Love pours out as you
remember death is only
a short step away from
the glorious life that
you inhabit now.
Your values, oh those,
that haunted your days
before are now dripping
from your sleeves like
diamonds.
You walk, steadfast
into the future of
unknowns.
