Play Octagon is an interactive design product. It makes visitors come closer and play music together. With the interesting interaction, people can feel the meaning of harmony and cooperation in the fragmented society.

Concept Statement
I’m creating an inviting interaction design product that encourages visitors to come and play a song together and capture the moment.
If a single player in an orchestra cannot match the sound, the orchestra cannot play a perfect symphony. Through the cooperation of different people with perfect harmony, they create something great.

Inspiration - Bagua (Eight Trigrams)
This symbol is originated from Taoist cosmology that represents the fundamental principles of reality as well as harmony. I want to incorporate the concept into my project because design is produced by designers, strategists, and technologists, and they create products collaboratively.
Ideation
My idea is started from a music-playing bench and cushion. From many iteration, I created a final concept called Play Octagon. It plays a song by holding a bar. Each bar plays a designated instrument. Only when 8 bars are touched does it play the perfect song. There is a camera in the center, and it will follow the user. Visitors can capture and download the image on their phone by scanning the QR code.
