I am studying how people look back on their valuable memories stored in digital media in order to understand how the technology and time affects our yesterdays and relationships by making an interactive environment. It is a digital photo frame/memory box that imports photos from Facebook or Instagram account. At first, the pictures are somehow blurry and not clear, like collecting dust on top of the pictures and old photographs are more obscure. This photo effect encourages the user to want to see the picture more clearly. Brushing off the dust the user needs to touch, rub, and magnify photos for making them more clear. If the user does not try to interact with the picture, it gradually fades away and disappears.

Through this process, only the pictures that the user wants to keep are left in the end. The technology has lessened the burden of remembering something for us, but the same time, it made us feel less important about what is important to us. By taking photos using a smartphone, we are able to keep memories easily and clearly, but we are not doing well to look back on the photos. Pictures just are stacked over time. And while Social media has become an important medium for recalling memory, new posts of others are constantly updated. This tendency of social media seems to have distracted people about what we should have kept for a long time. This project is an attempt to escape from this phenomenon and reminds you to think about your memories.
