But behind the façade lies a darker truth. Odette is the clandestine antagonist, a mastermind who uses forbidden techniques to transfer her bad luck to Clover, in her pursuit of more fame. The combination of Clover’s inherent bad luck and Odette’s explains why Clover faces so much mistreatment in society. However, it’s only revealed until too late and gives us a shocking plot twist.
