‘YONCE, ‘YONCE, ARE YOU HAPPY TO BE IN MILANO
The one in which Lindsay discovers she’s Italian.
It was the second week in Córdoba, Argentina and a young, naive Remote strolled into the social area of our co-working space to behold a group of Remotes booking Beyonce tickets. I believe my exact response to them encouraging me to see her in concert in Milan was, “Alright, fuck it, I’m in.”
And what an incredible decision that was. After only 5 days in London, I flew to Milan to carbo load to prep for the amount of dancing and screaming I was going to do at her concert.
The other Remotes I was with all insisted we should go to Lake Como and God bless them for it. I kept joking, “Well, now we know where George Lucas got the idea for what Padme and Anakin’s hide out should look like it.” Joke’s on me there’s an actual villa it’s either based on or shot at there. Absolutely beautiful.

#nofilter but seriously, soon after I took this swans appeared swimming near the shore. I mean come on.
A friend of mine from my time living in Bangkok went to college in Milan. She gave amazing food recommendations, one of which was a spot that served Roma style pasta and happened to be next to a plaza another Remote’s friend recommended. We walked out of dinner and saw some old looking columns and agreed to check it out. Low and behold young Milanos are sitting, standing, talking, drinking, hanging out like it’s a music festival without the music. What a cool night and random experience. We then got on the subway the wrong way twice to get home. Again, random.
Then Monday happened. BEYONCE. The stage had no decoration. It was pretty much a black space with GIANT, larger than jumbotron size screens that projected her image. It was perfect. She started singing and dancing and I couldn’t stop screaming for 10 minutes. She gave the people exactly what they wanted and I now have a new life goal, get to a status where it’s expected that 15 backup dancers follow me around.

SQUAD at Beyonce

We didn’t go out in Milan but two food places I absolutely recommend: Pizzeria Sorbillo (Napoli style pizza) and Rugantino (get the penne with spicy basil sauce)
