An Arborist’s Aspiration

A day of identifiying trees
Down at the bottom of the Rosslyn property
What holy work
For our sake
And the sake of others
I’m glad someone cares
A guide to me to care more.
Leaf, and color, bark and seed,
Each a tell tale sign of uniqueness
Like hair and eye color
“I am me and only me”
And the diversity
In this place
Makes me feel humble
And grateful
And amazed.
So many
So many trees
Beautiful life-giving trees.
A tiny magical forest
That just looks like a bunch of trees
Until you stop to look
To notice
To honor
The one who could have possibly come up with
so many possibilities
The Creator God
An artist indeed.
