Let Me Remember

Let me remember
the gift of these days
the sweet anticipation of my first son getting married,
But especially his forsight in spending his last 2 weeks as a single guy
With us.
I cook with relish and joy
placing tasty meals in front of appreciative mouths,
At dinner time,
we are together at the table
present together,
across from each other,
talking sharing laughing.
I breath long and deep and know things will be changing
forever
in so many good ways
But this moment where we are just now
is treasure
And I feel so deeply grateful.
