Scout, on Kant: “Can I get back to you?” © 2016 Amberwood Media

Hi, Carmie, love that you’re talking philosophy with your golden, Sammy. He’s cute, albiet hypothetical. On my end, Scout is real, and he seems to enjoy my musings on Kant. He keeps coming back for more, at least. Also love your practical view of philosophy. When abstractions start to pile up, the dialog can get tough. Scout and I like to start with the notion of meta .. thinking about thinking, thinking about knowledge .. maybe even categorizing it, like Kant did. To me naturalism is a very sensible foundation. Let’s start with what we can see. Then, we add what we can know, factoring in time, space, etc. .. all the meta stuff. Scout seems to know, almost a priori, the time and place to look for dinner. He hasn’t weighed-in on the rest of Kant’s insights or frameworks quite yet. But he’s enjoying my philosophy stories if only, ironically, because a dog is cast in a supporting role. 🐶🐶
