Secret Garden
Embrace her cascade of color, while you can. A poem.
Secret garden casts a spell
Magic colors hidden well
Behind her garden gate.
Colors dance where I can’t see
The festival she hides from me.
New blossoms tempting fate.
Snowy white, precious pink
Her lavender, and dare to think
If red could steal the show?
But decades run
In shade
and sun,
and rain,
and winter snow.
Garden, garden tell me how.
Help me keep your colors now
As summer saunters nigh.
Well that’s the secret, anyhow.
Just close your eyes
and try.
