Everyone’s Figured It All Out, Except Me

When’s It My Turn? Do I Even Want It to Be?

Do you ever feel like everyone’s got it all figured out? Everyone except you, that is? That’s the way the past few days have been feeling to me.

It feels like everyone’s sharing big, important and exciting developments with me. I’m happy for them, really :)

But there’s also that, “well, when is it my turn?” and “well, what about me?” thinking that happens too ;)

(Ahhh, ego, there you are again! I thought I told you to get lost…)

At times like this, I look around and start telling myself stories about the people I see, things like -

-Look how happy they are!

-Wouldn’t it be great to be living their life?

-I wish I had it all figured out, just like them!

-Why can’t I seem to figure it out like they have?!

This isn’t the first time I’ve experienced these feelings. I first recognized them two years ago and wrote about the experience here.

I noticed them again last fall. That time I took comfort in realizing I’m not the only one who experiences these feelings.

Part of Just Rolling with It is realizing and accepting that figuring it all out isn’t the point. I’m learning it’s the journey, not the destination, not the place where it’s all figured out, where we live our lives.

I realized this means things will get messy along the way. I’m trying to stay open to the mess and let the magic happen.

How about you? Do you have it all figured out? If you do, PLEASE, let me know how you did it in the comments :)

BETTER YET, if you feel just as confused as I do during these times, please recommend this post. Knowing we’re not alone on this crazy ride can make it a lot more fun!
