Do We Ask Why Enough?
In pursuit of fewer sticking plasters
I’ve lost count of the number of business leaders who tell us how their strategy has failed. They describe how hard it’s become to understand and win in this new world. They will explain the lack of aligned effort, dubious talent or energy for the task — they will happily explain they have a vague vision, dramatically changed marketplace.
They also explain how little faith they have in advisors and consultants.
Every solution they get offered is another legacy situation waiting to happen — a potentially hollow and expensive promise. Add to this festival of doom the reality that the words used to describe strategy and change are overused, abused and meaningless.
Carrying on assuming that things will miraculously get better or that the old ways of dealing with these things might just start to work seems like a strange and risky strategy and yet it seems to be the norm.
So. Why?

Why don’t more people ask ‘why’ things are like they are rather than apply more sticking plasters over the issues?
Why isn’t there more of a clamour to understand all of the criteria and dynamics affecting the actual issue?
Why are we so happy to try ‘just once more’ to tackle the problems with such half-hearted energy and not do the REAL work that’s necessary.
Is It Because We Know No Better?
Well we think it’s probably because what’s needed to be done is not what most senior executives have been used to doing. They have not typically been taught to do the cultural and behavioural forensics, nor think differently about how ‘conscious’ the enterprise really is, not do they spend serious time clarifying the story of the strategy — in particular ‘why’ the business deserves to succeed. Really.
All Businesses Need
To perform at the highest possible level. To own and lead their categories. To be inspiring places to work. To be resilient in the face of constant pressure. More. But we don’t see anywhere enough effort going into what that actually means inside the hearts and minds of the people who are expected to deliver it.
Our Sole Focus
Why WE exist is to unscramble, prioritise, align (or where one doesn’t exist) create the clear plan that ensures the why, what and how the business needs to think and work. We think that businesses need to genuinely understand their role in all the above or they will continue to fail.

Our Way Of Doing This?
We pay attention. We work hard and creatively and we do it visually so that we all actually understand and own the result. We challenge not for the sake of it but because what we hear often just doesn’t add up. We know and have proven the power of the idea of logical creative frameworks all over the world.
Because?
Strategy often doesn’t work. Few businesses do it well and their people get left behind. They are simply not in the picture. The world moves too fast for critical thinking not to be owned and shared more broadly. So we need to do a far better job of explaining just what it takes to actually think and work that differently.
Why?
Because in order to survive we are talking about massive competitive pressures in every industry and every nation and state to perform in a way that works for the society we are. Not the society we are today but tomorrow and the society we can only imagine we are becoming. Oh and if you don’t believe us go ahead and solve the wrong problems really well.
What Do We Do?
We learn, we work hard, we challenges, we co-collaborate — we don’t add burden, we structure — together we co create an architecture. We will build a platform to allow you to run your future.
And That Means?
You win.
Why?
You will have changed the way you think and you will change the way you work — you will be developing a resilient mentality — a consciousness of smart persistence in order to survive in the 21st Century.
