Aging and Clothing: It Is All About Comfort, Not Style
Comfort and ease of use are more important as we get older
Clothes are necessary unless you are a nudist.
But even then, the nudists I know carry around towels for hygiene and keep a few sets of clothes for when they venture off the premises of where they are.
I always thought that the nude world was the perfect solution for those of us getting up in age.
Without clothes, no buttons, snaps, or zippers restrain us from accessing the body parts we need—sometimes in a hurry. Belts, suspenders, or Velcro are not needed. Most importantly, there is no latex for those who may be allergic.
Being in the buff makes sense. However, decency, hygiene, warmth, and sun protection limitations should take precedence.
My challenge is skin cancer. I overexposed my body as a teenager, growing up on the beach. Sixty years later, I’m paying for it with multiple skin cancers and other growths on my head, shoulder, and back.
Fortunately, nothing is malignant and has been surgically removed or frozen. You will not find me hanging out at the pool, sunning myself nude. The thought of having a mole show up on an appendage and being surgically removed or frozen with nitrogen does not put me…
