It happened again. I heard a song, and it triggered memories from sixty years ago.

The older I get, the more that is happening. I call it music-triggering. It’s an affinity to some of the most incredible pop, folk, and rock and roll music the world produced. Most of it was created in the sixties, seventies, and eighties.

The other day, I was watching a movie called On The Beach. It’s a pretty grim film about nuclear annihilation. It is the story that none of us want to hear. It is about total earth destruction and death of all living things due to a nuclear war between the United States and China.

The movie follows the lives of the crew of a surviving United States nuclear submarine. Once the bombs and missiles stopped, the sub continued to patrol the Pacific until everyone onboard died from radiation poisoning.

The movie was predictable, with multiple themes of love and human emotions as people died off. The acting was okay, but it was not good enough to keep me from occasionally dozing off.
