I have been absent from Medium for a bit. I was here for the great poetry craze of 2018 -2020ish. I was here when the Medium Partner Program was paying well — for almost a year I brought in at least $500 a month from writing poetry online. My God was that amazing, and oh how I miss it. The MPP probably realized they were almost paying poets a living wage so, they ended or, as they say, improved, how they pay writers and this resulted in me, and most other poets, making less than a dollar a month from our poetry. Which also resulted in many of us taking a break, looking for other spaces and places, going back to ramen and water in the cereal instead of milk. You know, the usual for us lowly poets.

I decided to try again. I write longer articles, I write poetry. I try. I hope to hit some kind of income someday with my writing because no other calling or career has ever meant as much to me, or been so perfect for me and how I want to exist as a person in this life.

I am trying to catch up. To see who is who now in the poetry game on Medium. I remember the old days, the glory days, if you will of being wild and crazy about poetry and wild and crazy about each other in this Medium poetry community —…
