Hello and welcome to Changelog, your weekly roundup of everything new in Justworks. This week we launched two features to help employers navigate and access COVID-19 relief.

  1. COVID-19 Tax Credit Record
  2. Additional CARES Employee Retention Tax Credit Support

1. COVID-19 Tax Credit Record

The COVID-19 Tax Credit Record in Justworks’ COVID-19 Relief Center enables you to record any tax credits under the CARES Act or the FFCRA claimed outside of Justworks through either another payroll provider or by filing the Form 7200.

The COVID-19 Tax Credit Record is important because it enables Justworks to file your taxes correctly. We need to know any tax credits your company has previously claimed to file correctly and apply certain caps to payroll tax credits as detailed in the CARES Act and FFCRA.

Visit our Help article to learn how to use the COVID-19 Tax Credit Record.

2. Additional CARES Employee Retention Tax Credit Support

The Employee Retention Tax Credit helps keep employees on payroll by providing employers with tax credits of up to $5,000 per eligible employee. A few weeks ago, we launched the CARES Employee Retention Tax Credit in Justworks to eligible companies that averaged 100 or fewer full-time employees in 2019.

This week, we launched the ability for employers that averaged 101 or more full-time employees in 2019 who opt in to the program to seamlessly claim tax credits directly from payroll. For information on eligibility and enrollment for the Employee Retention Tax Credit, please see our Help article.
