WDIO Re-run Service Finds a New Home in The Webdriver.IO Community Organization
WDIO Re-run Service was originally developed during a #Hackweek at JW Player. We quickly realized that this service could help not just the projects in our stack but in the community as well, so open-sourced the code.
After several updates and a major revision of Webdriver.IO, the package now has 1,500+ weekly downloads and is used in daily testing efforts within many organizations, saving countless hours of debugging false positives.
The service code will now have a new home in the Webdriver.IO Community Organization. We think this is the best decision for the service and will ensure its compatibility with new versions and features moving forward.
Initially, this is not a drastic change. The NPM package will still be available and most changes should be transparent to developers, but in the long-term, the change allows for increased exposure in the community and integration with Webdriver.IO, and we are proud to give back to the open-source community!
