Bystander: An upcoming anthology

Kadak Collective is pursuing a big idea this year! We are creating a full length publication: an anthology of comics + illustrations + graphic pieces for print, and a partner commission for web. As a project coming from South Asia, we have long deliberated on the focus of this anthology, one which we hope would have real resonance, provoke debate, and discussion.

We’ve arrived at something that we think is interesting, broad, inclusive, and will prompt many different kinds of stories — the Bystander.

This upcoming anthology proposes to tackle narratives on geography and gender, identity and self, boundary and exclusion through the lens and experience of the bystander.

Our roster of confirmed contributors spans 50+ amazing illustrators, writers, artists, film makers from India, Sri Lanka, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Nepal and the South-Asian diaspora across Europe, UK, USA, and Canada. Read more about the Bystander anthology, and check out our contributor line-up.
