We’ve created this guide for both our potential clients and job candidates to provide a transparent overview of how Kaiiax works with content. It explains our approach and helps you decide whether we’re the right provider (or employer) for you. If you have any questions that we haven’t answered, please email us at hello@kaiiax.com.

👆What is quality content?

It’s 2021, and content quality is one of the most important — yet obvious — factors for ranking in search engines. Google itself points out:

“We want to guide Google users to the highest quality content, the principle exemplified in our quality rater guidelines.”

In 2019, Google launched a core update where they suggested “focusing on ensuring you’re offering the best content you can.” This is exactly what Google’s algorithm rewards.

Even though search rankings are determined by an algorithm, that formula was developed by people. Here are some of the most important criteria of high-quality content:

  • Originality
  • Substantiality
  • Insightfulness
  • Value
  • Trustworthiness
  • Expertise
  • Factual correctness
  • Grammatical accuracy
  • Readability
  • Relevance

With these criteria properly implemented, high-quality content will positively impact both SEO campaigns and website conversion rates.

✔ Content that promotes gambling, drugs, weapons, pornography, violence

✍ Content writing process

Here is a quick overview of our editorial process so you can better understand what to expect when you start working with us.

🚂 Content planning

Before we start creating content, we need to know what purpose we’re doing it for. In other words, we create content only when it’s aligned with our client’s business goals and marketing strategy.

  • During our initial meeting, we discuss our client’s specific business goals and what they are already doing to achieve them (or what they want to do).
  • We review and audit our client’s content plan (if it exists) and provide suggestions on how it can be improved.
  • Once we’ve clarified content goals, we select SEO focus keywords to target with our content. We do SEO evaluations to define the key phrases that have the biggest potential and are not too competitive.
  • Once approved, we start planning content. We typically plan content for an entire Cluster which consists of 8–10 topics.

In case our clients already have a content plan that they need us to implement, we’ll do so if we believe it can bring the results our clients are looking for.

Our content plan includes:

  • Focus SEO keyphrase
  • Search volume for this keyphrase
  • Buyer persona
  • Name of the cluster
  • Reader’s stage of awareness
  • Job to be done
  • Key message
  • Content references

🌅 Prewriting

Once our content plan is approved and prioritized, we start brainstorming ideas about the topic to create an effective content brief that “checks all the boxes.”

Our content brief includes:

  • Title (or several title ideas)
  • Description of the direction the writer should take
  • Job to be done
  • Key message
  • Information about our client’s expertise
  • Suggested outline, including headings and subheadings
  • Word count
  • Buyer personas or target audience
  • Style guide
  • Competitor links
  • Resources to find content ideas
  • Recent studies
  • Recent statistics
  • Related blog posts and other internal pages
  • Focus SEO keyword
  • Secondary SEO keywords
  • LSI keywords
  • Questions from the “People also ask” box
  • Alt tags
  • CTA

The next step is writing an outline that helps the writer organize ideas in a sequential manner and achieve a thoughtful flow.

We give feedback to each outline to make sure the writer understands the topic well and can create a great draft.

💻 Drafting

Our writers start working on a rough draft. Our content length is typically 1500–3500 words.

🐛 Editing

Once the rough draft is done, the writer sends it to the editor for review. They might also ask subject matter experts to review the draft and confirm it reflects the expertise correctly.

Our editor is guided by a checklist to ensure the draft is reviewed properly:

  • Does the content meet a reader’s need?
  • Does it meet a business communication goal?
  • Is it unique, current, and relevant?
  • Is it factually correct, on message, and aligned with the content strategy?
  • Does it conform to the style guide and does it adopt the right voice and tone?
  • Is it plagiarized?
  • Does it include the client’s expertise?
  • Does it meet SEO requirements?

Our content editing standards:

Our editor gives their feedback on the draft. We leave comments right on the page within an article. We use Google docs. It’s an excellent tool for sharing drafts with everyone involved and for leaving and responding to comments.

📪 Reviewing

After a few back-and-forths between writers and editors, we send the final draft for the client’s review.

Our clients get drafts that are thoroughly edited and proofread by native English speakers.

📇 Publishing

Once our clients approve the draft, it’s ready for publishing. We provide up to two revisions of the final draft after our client’s review.

When the draft is published, we review the publication to ensure all SEO requirements are met.

🛍 The types of content we create

  • Content Clusters — 8–10 blog articles
  • Landing pages or what we call “offers”
  • Website content — website structure and copy
  • Blog posts — singular articles
  • Lead magnets — ebooks, templates, checklists, etc.
  • Content assets for link building — attention-grabbing shareable content

Other services we provide as standalone projects:

  • Content strategy
  • Content briefs

❓ FAQs for buyers

Can I buy only content briefs?

Can I buy only editing?

Yes. We can provide editing services for your in-house or freelance content writers. Please contact us so we can give you a quote.

Can I just pay for writing?

In short, no. To create quality content, you need all the processes involved:

thorough planning and research, SEO optimization, outlining, editing, and proofreading.

We can exclude content planning and proofreading only in case you have these activities covered. Please note, that we only work with existing content plans if we believe they will provide the result you’re looking for.

How quickly can I get started?

Our typical lead time to get started is five business days, but this can vary depending on capacity.

How long does it take to get the final draft?

If we’re working on an entire Cluster (8–10 articles), it takes a month from content plan to final draft but depends on client approval times.

If we’re working on one content piece, it usually takes us a week to finish the draft.

How soon can I expect to see results from your content?

Results in content marketing depend on a variety of factors such as your site’s domain rank, on-site technical SEO factors, value proposition, traffic, content strategy, link-building activities, and others. We can’t guarantee that our content will bring you the results you’re looking for if we don’t oversee your content marketing operations. That said, the content we create has the potential to bring the results you’re aiming at.

How much content do I need?

This depends on your business goals, your current content, and what it is you want to achieve.

How is success measured?

Companies invest in content marketing to generate leads for their business. While we can’t guarantee leads for the reasons mentioned above, we do make it possible for you to improve your site’s rankings and conversation rates by publishing high-quality content consistently.
