We are Kaiiax. We provide website user experience design and copy for software development companies.

Over the years of working in the tech sector we have realized that a website is one of the most important investments a software development company can make.

A website performs one important function — it tells about the company. The way a company describes itself on its website influences website conversion rates. A conversion can be identified by a number of different things that a website owner wants their website visitors to do.

For example, a conversion can include events, such as a visitor filling out a lead capture form, or a metric such as when a visitor’s time on site reaches a certain number of minutes or a visitor views a certain number of pages.

For software development companies a website is often a sales channel, because a lot of entrepreneurs today discover software development service providers through the internet.

But some companies miss this sales opportunity. Their websites don’t convert visitors to leads, and as a result fail to bring in new clients. Why? Because these websites don’t answer the questions that potential clients might have. In other words, they don’t tell about the company in a way that arouses interest in the website visitor.

We decided to fix this.

What we do

We take the responsibility for creating websites’ UX design and copy off the plates of business owners.

But we don’t simply design user experience and write copy. Our work can be described as search for a unique formula that helps organizations stand out.

We learned by experience that purely aesthetics-driven design has its weaknesses. As well as websites that have a lot of content, but little substance.

Our secret is content and design at the same time. Content delivers a message that has a purpose. And design augments the message of the content. We believe that UX and copy walk hand-in-hand. The way they function together nearly always determines the success or failure of a website.

“Content precedes design. Design in the absence of content is not design, it’s decoration.” –Jeffrey Zeldman

Our website UX design and copy is an integrated service. We provide website’s wireframes and copy together, not separately. Our delivery includes a .sketch file with wireframes and a Google Docs folder with copy.

Our approach

Our approach is about building relationships with business owners. This relationship requires collaboration and deep understanding of our client’s business. We work directly with business owners to make sure the website we are working on conveys the right messages in the most effective ways possible.

Our work process

Step 1. Brief

Brief is our initial meeting where we get to know your business better. During this meeting we get the answers to the questions that define the direction for our work.

Step 2. Competitive analysis

One of the main goals of a website is to convey the company’s value to its target audience in a way that sets the company apart from the competition. To do that we need to understand the competition. That’s why we always start by analyzing your competitive landscape.

Step 3. Competitive positioning statement

As a result of the competitive analysis we create a competitive positioning statement. Our positioning statement is usually a 25- to 35-word statement that captures the essence of your brand — who you are, what you do, for whom, along with a key differentiator or your brand promise.

When creating a positioning statement, we take into account what the company is currently known for, the opportunities in the market, and what we ultimately want the company to be known for.

Step 4. Customer decision-making factors

Customer decision-making factors represent a list of factors that influence a customer’s decision to contact your company. These factors help us develop the understanding of your customer and the context of their interactions with your website. Customer decision-making factors serve as a foundation for your website’s UX design and copy.

Step 5. Information architecture

When we clearly understand the nature of your company and your business objectives, we start working on your website’s information architecture. Information architecture is a document that describes how the content on a website is organized and labelled.

Step 6. Wireframes and Copy

Before proceeding to creating wireframes and writing copy, we approve the information architecture with you. We have at least two iterations to make sure our wireframes and copy meet your requirements and coincide with your vision of the website.

What’s next?

We don’t provide graphic design. But we know people who do. We’d be glad to connect you with these people and we are ready to manage the design process at no cost for you.

After the website is implemented we normally continue working with our clients consulting them on the website conversion rate optimization, content marketing and brand development.
