How filters work in Kaiten

Spaces have a powerful Filters tool that helps you find exactly what you need.
In order to activate a filter, you must click on the “Filters” button in the top panel.

Filter groups

You can filter cards by several criteria at once. We call this a filter group.

Filters in a group are linked by the “AND” or “OR” condition. The “AND” condition means that all filters in the group must be executed. The “OR” condition means that at least one filter must be executed.
Let’s see how they work with an example.

The filter group “Owner Ekaterina” or “Member Ekaterina” means that we are looking for cards, where Ekaterina is the customer or the participant of the card.

The group of filters “Owner Ekaterina” and “Member Ekaterina” means that we are looking for cards where Ekaterina is a customer and at the same time a card participant. The results of this filter group will differ from the previous example, where filters are OR-linked.

There can be as many groups as you like. You can create a very precise filter with many conditions.

Filter groups are also linked by the terms “AND” or “OR”. Those. all filter groups or at least one of all filter groups must be fulfilled.

You can save the created complex filter so that you do not need to re-enter the conditions every time you need it. You can find the saved filters by clicking on the “Filters” button.

Flexible settings for filters by date and numbers

Filters related to dates, such as card expiration or creation date, can be flexibly configured.

For example, filter by card deadline. We can specify that the deadline in the card must be greater, less than or equal to the date specified in the filter.

Or you can indicate that the date in the card must be less than, greater than or equal to the number of days relative to the current date. This is useful if I want to get cards that were created less than 8 days ago, in order to analyze which cards were created during the week.

If the filter contains a numeric value, then you can get cards for which this value is greater, less, equal to the specified one. You can also get cards if some field (for example, size) is absent in it at all or has any meaning, when the very fact of the presence of this field is important to us.
