In the closet no more :’)

September 5, 2018, was not just another day. It was a day drenched with history, full of hope for a better future, a better India.

Lots of love for all, yes, for all!

Presenting a short poem on the best thing that happened this year: the abolition of #section377

Desperate cold hands held together,

Writhe in fear

Eyes set on each other, stricken with worry

What end might be near?

It has been a dark dark sky for years

Gloomily oppressive with disdainful looks and imposed shackles — -

Would today be another thunderstorm in the making

To beat down the house we have lovingly built into ramshackles?

What it is to love, is a difficult question

But we

Have loved.

In hiding-

In closets-

In shame.

And no love is shameful.

No love is less-

No love, dismissable.

And there we see it, streaking through the layers of humiliation

Cutting through them all;

The clouds part after so long

Sunkissed and breezy: the nightingale’s song!

Amidst a million cheers

Unapologetically loud and oh-so-clear

Unabashed — -

Free —

Beautiful-

The rainbow twinkles.

Sealing their love with unflinching courage

They kiss under the rainbow.

Their very own pot of gold.

Found, at last.

What is it to love?

It is hope.

Victory.

Solace.

A moment of pride! ^-^
