We have moved very much from the original synthesis of the Gita, as we progressed into chapter after chapter, to barely speak of it but indulged it as a reference point in order not to digress too much away from it either, but we have build our colossal structure on the initial foundation of its grand philosophy and self-exceeding spiritual standards, its unique structure of thought and movement, and it is out of these were born the subsequent chapters dealing with the foundational elements of integral Yoga as developed and perfected by Sri Aurobindo, and so out of their own measure and self-development, their own thought and structure, rose a unique viewpoint of the Spirit emerging in the last three chapters of the series in perfect order, which disengage from the conventional wisdom and move into a territory marked for the walk or stroll of the higher Wisdom, for the unique house-print of a Godhead hitherto unknown to any personal experience.

Readership for the series was a bare minimum; the constraints of philosophical complexities and the strain of esoteric symbolism have had an impact on the modern mind in the twilight of a half-knowledge to discourage it from exploring the content with patience and fidelity of purpose, but this was to be expected since these essays were not written for a general audience or general practitioners of Yoga. The series was an attempt to write out of a descending Knowledge and Inspiration, rather out of a silent Consciousness than out of mere mental churning and brilliant thought-production, to seek for a synthetic viewpoint of life and so develop it out of a progressive ideal of the Truth divine. It is only hoped that a few will derive out of it the necessary impetus to their own self-development towards the Spirit, and a few more their meaning and sense of their own Godhead immanent in as well as above them.

It might be considered a sign of an impractical recluse to say that Sri Krishna and Sri Aurobindo had presided over the entire series and guided every word of the writer, but it might also be considered — and indeed it is — a sacrilege if the writer did not admit of their contribution and guidance. And to say anything more than this is indeed unbecoming of a recluse I am!

The writer earnestly wishes to thank Mahesh CR for reposing his trust in me and my abilities, for pushing me towards the sense of a greater purpose as I began exploring the means to get the series on track. It was a brilliant sign of collaborative work in which his personal contribution was immense and staggering, to say the least.

Sri Aurobindo says in one of his aphorisms,

“What I cannot do now is the sign of what I shall do hereafter. The sense of impossibility is the beginning of all possibilities. Because this temporal universe was a paradox and an impossibility, therefore the Eternal created it out of His being.”

It has guided us towards what we are now, a happy expression of His radiant Light. 🙏
