Time to meet the newest Kambrian — Eduardo! Read on to learn about how his youthful experiences, including working at a junkyard and a favorite cartoon, laid the foundation for his career in DevOps.

Where are you from?

I’m a Brazilian living in Portugal since 2019. I was born in Goiânia, Goiás but I lived in São Paulo for longer than in Goiânia.

What’s your role at Kambr?

My goal is to help everyone execute their tasks in the most fun, most secure and easiest ways; it’s the objective of a DevOps engineer role.

What was your path to Kambr?

I worked in many different industries using a huge number of platforms helping businesses achieve their goals faster while spending less than expected.

These challenges helped learn more and to be more creative. Now, I can bring all this experience to build together with Kambrians to reach new heights.

What’s something you want your colleagues to know about you?

I love challenges and helping everybody to do their tasks easier. Besides that, I love happy hours with my friends ( I usually consider most of my coworkers as my friends ), tasting new flavors and getting to know new places.

What keeps you busy outside of work?

I like to join friends on trips, drink or to eat anything just to socialize and have conversations. When I’m alone, I like to make something, automatizing things using Raspberry Pi, Arduino or just configuring new gadgets to automatize anything in my house.

What’s your superpower?

I think that I can say, creativity.

What makes you nervous?

Injustice with my friend.

What are you proud of?

My past, my history.

What’s the best advice you’ve ever received?

My mother told me: “the biggest heritage that I can give you is education.”

What’s one thing you love to do?

To travel, to learn new things and get to know new places.

What’s your biggest personal accomplishment?

Moving outside from my home country. In my case, it was moving to Portugal.

What’s one big thing on your bucket list?

Learn to sail a sailing boat.

What did you want to be when you grew up?

I loved to watch the Gyro Gearloose cartoon, and I really wanted to be like him; to build things and to invent things to help other people.

What’s the most interesting (or unusual) job you’ve had?

When I was younger, I worked during my vacation in a junkyard of the friend of my uncle where I fixed many devices, getting parts that were working to make some digital calculators work.

What’s your favorite/dream destination to fly to?

I have many places, but the most distant is Japan, where I want to go to learn about my origins.

What’s the airport you’ve been to the most?

CGH — Congonhas — São Paulo

What’s your favorite airline?

I never flew with them, but from what I read about them, I can say that my favorite is Emirates (EK).

Window seat or aisle seat?

Window seat

Do you have any funny or weird flight stories?

I don’t remember in detail but when I was a child, I was invited to see the cockpit.
