Meet the Kambrian — Ionut
Today, we get to learn more about Ionut, Kambr’s football loving, coffee addict from Romania. Read on to learn what instrument he played to a third place national finish.
Where are you from?
I was born and live in Romania, Bucharest (le petit Paris 😊 )
What’s your role at Kambr?
I’ve joined as Technical Support Analyst.
What was your path to Kambr?
I finished studies in the Economics field, hence I am licensed in Finance and Accounting.
Given my specializations at that time, I started working 15 years ago, in business areas, like Finance/Accounting, Reporting, HR and Payroll. During my activity there, I acted as an end user or key user of various ERP (enterprise resource planning) applications, like SAP, Oracle EBS and JDE or Charisma.
Six and a half years ago, I made a decision to join the vendor side, so I could be in position to assist users and businesses with their functional and technical issues. That’s when I joined Oracle, in a Software Technical Support role, for one of their applications (E-Business Suite).
What’s something you want your colleagues to know about you?
I love interacting with people and having a laugh, even during work. Hard work and stress lead to burnout, but if you add laughter and joy, they lead to results.
Feel free to ping me any time for more information 😀
What keeps you busy outside of work?
Hmm… family, friends, and sometimes work 😀
I like to play with my nephew and niece, actually this year, I am taking my nephew to a football match at the stadium for his first time in life 😊
What’s your superpower?
I have always survived the temptation of getting married, I gained pretty good skills in avoiding it 😊
I can also prepare very tasty Cuba Libre cocktails 😀
What makes you nervous?
First 30 minutes in the mornings 😀 I am addicted to coffee, after the first cup I am a changed man 😀 I’m so sorry for who wakes up next to me 😊
Me: Before and after coffee 😀
What’s the best advice you’ve ever received?
Follow your instincts, fear nothing as long as you do everything you feel and can.
As our dear Liverpool fans are singing every week:
“When you walk through a storm, hold your head up high!”
What’s one thing you love to do?
Playing football and tennis with friends and tracking the km/steps 😊
What did you want to be when you grew up?
I wanted to become a football player, unfortunately the time came when I had to choose between football and school, then I had a knee injury. So I was born as a talent, but ended up as just a hope 😀
What’s your favorite/dream destination to fly to?
Hmm, since I didn’t travel that much outside Europe, I’d like to check out the sand in the Pacific islands in the future. Usually people go there for a honey moon, but I haven’t reached that stage yet 😀
What’s the airport you’ve been to the most?
Except Romanian ones, I can say Larnaca, Cyprus. From there, it’s a 30-minute drive to a very nice seaside city, Ayia Napa. If you like night and boat parties, that is a place where you want to be in May, June or September 😊
What’s your favorite aviation related film?
Not 100% related to aviation, but I enjoyed Pearl Harbor a lot. Together with its soundtrack ❤
Window seat or aisle seat?
Aisle seat. I can stretch my legs and I don’t need to disturb anyone if I have any urgency 😊
Have you had your 15 minutes of fame yet?
I’ve won a few amateur level trophies in football, and… do not laugh… I won 3rd place in a National violin contest 😀
Yeah, in my youth, my mom thought that her boy shouldn’t play football with the bad boys, but start playing violin and piano 😀 I did that for 5 years.
Favorite show on Netflix.
The Blacklist, everyone loves Red 😊
What is the last thing you searched on Google?
Travel restrictions from EU to Mexico 😊
