Lighten the load on your pocket and the planet.

My name is Kan Yamamoto, a graphic designer based in the village of Tosayama, Japan. I’m a designer/founder of the Kamino Wallet.
Kamino Wallet is a project in which I’m trying to create a universal tool for the real world creatively and sustainably with the Japanese tradition of simplicity at its core.
I originally started this as a DIY project but many users gave me feedback and helped me to design the production version which I released here in June 2018.
After spending my twenties in Switzerland and Berlin, practicing the fine art and graphic design, I returned to my home place to dig deep into my own cultural root.
In Japan, we have the tradition of utilizing paper in every aspect of daily life from architecture to utensils. Although a piece of paper might be imperfect as a material because of its fragility, the real beauty lies in its versatility and the wisdom that is accompanied by.
Kamino Wallet merges the art of the Japanese “Origami” paper folding and the material developed by modern technology to make the most minimal wallet with maximal utility.
I‘m making it in the hope it helps you make your life simpler.
Because, a change in our life often starts with the smallest.
Stay simple. Go light!
