Maximizing interoperability and expanding utility

KamPay is excited to announce that we are deploying a bridge to the Polygon Network using AnySwap. Polygon is a protocol and a framework for building and connecting Ethereum-compatible blockchain networks, and the main focus of this integration will be expanding the scope of what’s possible for KamPay users via Polygon.
Bridging to Polygon

Over the last year, DeFi applications have soared in popularity, and with that popularity has come increased transaction costs. As Ethereum has become congested with a surge of NFT activity, among other things, users have turned to alternatives like Polygon. Polygon has gained huge traction in the last six months and is on the rise as they are bringing the world to Ethereum using their fast, easy, economical and accessible technology.

Polygon has a token named $MATIC that is used for gas fees, governance, and staking. The transaction fees on Polygon are significantly lower than alternative chains and transactions are faster than any other ecosystem currently on the market.

This is a critical point as it will feed into KamPay’s user acquisition model — enabling micro-transactions and making DeFi more accessible to users in emerging African markets. For KamPay, this integration means maximizing the interoperability of the project — and as we’re serving un and underbanked populations, reducing transaction times and making transaction fees more affordable is of utmost importance.

Currently scheduled for 26th August 2021, KamPay will deploy a bridge on Polygon using Anyswap, which is a fully decentralized cross chain swap protocol.

The bridge is deployed in AnySwap under the following URL: AnySwap.exchange/bridge.

In order to use the bridge, you’ll have to add the MATIC network to your RPC selection manually, this can be done in a similar way like explained in the KamPay PancakeSwap guide, but using the following details to connect to the Polygon network:

Network Name: Matic Mainnet

New RPC URL: https://rpc-mainnet.matic.network

Chain ID: 137

Symbol: MATIC

Block Explorer URL: https://explorer.matic.network/
