Hey Kana Community!!!

Welcome to yet another release of a tutorial guide from Kana Labs. This tutorial explains how a user can redeem their tokens when a cross-chain transaction fails mid-way.

The token redeeming process can be done from the same Swap UI as soon as the transaction fails. The detailed process for redeeming tokens is clearly explained below.

Step 1 — When a crosschain transaction fails to be executed properly/midway, the UI displays a pop-up message which reads “Claim Failed. You can redeem the bridged token”.

Step 2 — To redeem the tokens, copy the “transaction hash” data in the bridging pop-up screen and click on the “Redeem” option at the bottom of this pop-up.

Step 3 — In the Redeem window, select the requested data from the drop-down menu in the source and target sections such as the bridge in which the transaction was processed and the name of the origin chain, destination chain and the source bridge transaction hash data. Once this is done, click on the “Claim” icon at the bottom of the UI.

Step 4 — Approve any authentication pop-ups requested by the wallet.

Step 5 — Once the claim is successful, you will see a pop-up message that says “Success. Claim Completed! View on Explorer”.

After this, you can either verify that the claim was successful by checking the balance of the token in your wallet or by viewing the transaction data in the explorer option.

In case you close the transaction status window shown in “Step 1”, you can initiate the redeeming process anytime from the home screen of the swap UI. The main swap UI screen has “Tour” and “Redeem” icons in the header section. Please ensure that your wallet is connected to the UI and click on the “Redeem” icon to initiate the token redeeming process for any failed transaction.
