How to add subtitles to a GIF
Subtitled GIFs are everywhere on Twitter, Tumblr, and every other social media platform. It’s an easy way to express how you’re feeling, tell a joke, and relate to your audience. In this post, I’ll show you how to make subtitles GIFs with Kapwing, a fast and free online subtitling tool.
Step 1: Go to Kapwing
Navigate to Kapwing’s Subtitle Maker.
Step 2: Upload your GIF
You can either upload a .GIF file from your device or copy and paste a link to a GIF that is already online, like from Giphy. The Kapwing Subtitle Maker supports videos and GIFs.
Step 3: Add you subs
You can add one or more subtitles to the GIF by clicking on the text of the first subtitle. If you want to add multiple subtitles, you can add a subtitle and time them using the sliders in the editor.
Step 4: Choose your size and font options
In the left panel, you have options to change the color, size, and position of the subtitle font. You can also add a rectangle behind the text to make it more readable. You can also adjust the video size to optimize for Instagram, YouTube, or other social media platforms.
Step 5: Create and download
Click the Create button, and your subtitled GIF will be processed in the cloud in 30 seconds or less. Then, you can download it to share with your friends and publish across platforms
