New in Kapwing (July 2020)

We’re always looking to improve the Kapwing Studio Editor and this month we added some of our biggest (and freest) new features in months.

Undo/Redo functionality, multi-track audio and a slew of new image and text animations help make Kapwing the most powerful image, video, and GIF editor you’ll find online today. In this monthly update, we’ll lay out everything we’ve added to Kapwing to make content creation easy and accessible to everyone.

Undo & Redo

Undo is finally available in Kapwing

The undo feature is arguably the biggest quality of life improvement we’ve ever added to Kapwing. It’s also one of the most highly requested features of all time. Undo(CMD + Z on Mac OR CTRL + Z on Windows) gives you the power to take a step back in time to review the last edit you made to a project. Accidentally resize your title text? UNDO. Delete a GIF you wanted to keep? UNDO. Change one color and can’t stand how your project looks now? UNDO. Of course, you can Redo anything with SHIFT + CMD + Z on Mac or CTRL + Y on Windows too.

Multi-Track Audio

A high quality video is dependent on more than an interesting visual. Sound effects, music and all of the things your viewers hear are critical to setting your content apart from the droves of videos you’re competing with online. That’s why we added Multi-Track Audio support to Kapwing. This essential audio feature makes it possible to add layers of sounds to your video.

Use Multi-Track Audio to add different background songs throughout your video to match the mood or quickly insert short sound effects to pack a comedic punch in your content. Multiple Audio tracks also enable you to edit beyond the limits of what is possible in most social video apps. That’s right — your TikTok can feature five different songs instead of one now.

Image & Text Animations

Animations in Kapwing are getting more love this month with the addition of five new image animations and four new text animations.

These new Text Animations are available in Kapwing now

Our new animations include a Fade In that adds a dramatic effect to your projects along with more visually erratic options like Hue Rotate, Pop In, and Flicker. We love the flair they’re adding to our own internal projects and think you will too.
