Richard Yun — COO of Coinplug & Co-founder of Metadium is among the first generation of pioneers who brought blockchain technology to mainstream adoption. Coinplug is a leading firm that develops blockchain solutions for enterprises in Korea, having developed blockchain solutions for Korea’s largest enterprises such as LG, Hyundai and KB국민은 — Coinplug is the #1 blockchain patent holder in Korea and #2 in the world.
Apart from being one of the earliest pioneers in the blockchain space and a good friend of Vitalik Buterin, who is a Technical Advisor of Coinplug, Richard Yun is also a successful entrepreneur with deep expertise and knowledge in Finance, M&A and Operations known as the “Father” of blockchain in Korea, Richard Yun has been responsible for bringing blockchain technology to enterprises in Korea.
Richard Yun obtained his BA in Economics at UC Berkeley. He acted as the Deparment Lead at Exio Communications Inc., under his leadership, Exio Communications Inc. has been successfully acquired for $165 million in year 2000. Afterwards, Richard has also worked for Cisco Systems, Inc. as well as Mobile Agent technology, Inc. Subsequently, Richard established a firm called Conaxtech, Inc. — a tech-based satellite receiver company.
