The Day Before I (Almost) Met Jake Gyllenhaal and Peter Sarsgaard
I love an odd coincidence. (44)
Two things I didn’t mention in yesterday’s story: We went to see my brother-in-law, Bob, run the 2011 Leadville 100. Mr. Gyllenhaal’s hair and beard were long and thick, making him hard to recognize.
Today’s story takes place the previous day. My awesome, but clueless-about-movie-stars, companion stood along the trail with his 35mm camera, trying to get a good shot of Bob in action.
A week later, his developed film revealed a picture of a slightly shaggy stranger, though he’d missed Bob completely.
If we hadn’t seen Jake in the café the next day, we surely would’ve tossed the pic.
